Abstract

This research is motivated by the low value of student learning outcomes because students' interest in learning is very low. This is caused by the method used by the teacher which is not effective for the material. This research aims to improve students' learning outcomes in mathematics subjects, especially multiplication. Apart from that, it is also to increase teacher professionalism in increasing experience and knowledge in applying teaching methods. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) through 2 learning cycles. Each cycle is a series of activities consisting of 1) Planning, 2) Acting, 3) Observing, and 4) Reflecting. Data collection uses observation and test methods. Based on the research results, it was found that using the Gasing method could improve the multiplication abilities of grade 3 students at Koinonia Wamena Elementary School. This increase can be seen in the first cycle, there were 19 students out of 28 students or 67.8% who were declared complete. In cycle II, 25 out of 28 or 89% were declared complete. There was an increase of 21.2%.
