Abstract

Students of theological school shoud have proper understanding of doctrine and its application. There is a need for an instructional design for doctrine learning so that the learning objectives can be achieved.  This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the doctrinal instructional design for Dogma 1 course at Simpson Theological School.  The method used is a qualitative research by conducting an assessment based on observations, interviews and document analysis. The data collection method in this study are questionnaires, interviews, observations, tests and documentation. The components of the instructional design are evaluated.  The result of this study shows that the instructional design applied by lecturers has achieved the learning objectives of the course.  Assessments conducted based on the components of the instructional design showed good results.  And the achievement of learning objectives by students not only includes  proper understanding of doctrine but also includes changes in life conduct.
