Originality Screening Policy
Pedagog Jurnal Ilmiah is committed to publishing only original and high-quality scholarly work. To ensure the integrity of our publications, we implement a thorough originality screening process for all submitted manuscripts.
- Plagiarism Check
All manuscripts submitted to Pedagog Jurnal Ilmiah undergo plagiarism detection using trusted similarity checking tools (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate, or equivalent). This process is conducted prior to peer review to ensure the authenticity of the work.
- Acceptable Similarity Threshold
A manuscript will be considered for peer review only if the similarity index is below 20%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be:
- Returned to the author(s) for revision and resubmission;
- Rejected outright if extensive plagiarism is detected.
Exceptions may be made for properly cited quotations or methodological descriptions commonly used in academic research.
- Types of Plagiarism Checked
The editorial office screens for:
- Direct plagiarism (copying text word-for-word without quotation or citation);
- Self-plagiarism (reusing one’s own previously published material without disclosure);
- Mosaic plagiarism (interspersing copied phrases without citation);
- Improper paraphrasing (minor changes to copied material without proper attribution).
- Author Responsibility
Authors must ensure that all sources are appropriately acknowledged and that their submission is entirely original. Manuscripts must not be under consideration or published elsewhere.
- Consequences of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected:
- Before publication: The manuscript will be rejected, and authors may be blacklisted for future submissions.
- After publication: The article will be retracted with a formal notice of plagiarism, and relevant institutions will be notified.
- Ethical Statement Compliance
By submitting to Pedagog Jurnal Ilmiah, authors agree to abide by the journal's ethical standards, including this originality screening policy.
