MEMBANGUN KESADARAN AKADEMISI AKAN URGENSITAS PENELITIAN DAN PUBLIKASI

Abstract

As science develops rapidly and information becomes easier to obtain, the role of academics in research and publication becomes increasingly important. Research and publication are not just academic obligations, but also ways to contribute to the development of science and society as a whole. Scientists play an important role in building new knowledge, solving complex problems, and disseminating their discoveries to the wider public through publications. However, awareness of the importance of research and publications is often lacking among scientists. Thus, through one-day seminar activities carried out at STAK Diaspora Wamena in collaboration with 5 campuses in Wamena, it is hoped that it will raise awareness for all academics, both lecturers and students who attend, to consider research and publications as important. This activity was carried out at the STT Reform Wamena campus on October 13 2022. The implementation method begins with preparing a planned agenda, selecting quality presenters, interactive presentations, group discussions, simulations, and feedback/evaluation. The results of the seminar showed that the activities carried out were carried out well, even from the results of the questionnaire given at the end of the presentation of the material on the Importance of Research and Publications for Lecturers and Students. Participants stated that this activity was very useful and provided stimulation to work in the field of research and publish it. Apart from that, the material provided provides motivation to immediately start conducting research both on a small and medium scale, both independently and collaboratively. This activity raised participants' enthusiasm to contribute to educational development in Papua and Indonesia in general.
