MENGOPTIMALKAN KEMAMPUAN PENGETAHUAN SIMPLE PRESENT DAN PRESENT CONTINUOUS YANG DIMILIKI SISWA SMA JEMAAT GKI LACHAI ROI WAMENA

Abstract

Learning English is not easy. There are 16 tenses in English grammar that describe events occur at different times. The most common and the most important tenses for an English student to know are the simple present tense; which explains facts and events that occur repeatedly, and the Present continuous; which explains the events that are taking place now. In fact, English has been taught from elementary school to university level. Community Service which is held based on the collaboration between STKIP Kristen Wamena with the Education Team of the GKI Lachai Roi Wamena Church, Papua Mountains, aims to strengthen and explore the knowledge of English that is already known in the school, especially the use of simple present tense and present continuous tense. In classroom learning, several learning methods are used to create effective and non-monotonous learning. This community service activity happens every week at GKI Lachai Roi Hom-Hom Wamena, Papua Highlands. From the beginning the community service started until the end, and the response and results from the student and chruch community are very positive.
